REFILLING OUR LOVE BUCKETS

April 19 Decatur to McKinney 60 miles
Okay. Georgia told Rusty that since we'd been traveling North and doing so much climbing that now that we would be heading East the route should be pretty level. Isn't that the way it works?
He said probably there would be a big surprise at the end.....like hills! Well, we were both right. About 40% of the route was along six lane Hwy 380. There was a great shoulder to ride on, fairly flat but very noisy! A lot of traffic for Saturday. The scenery was quite beautiful with creeks, rivers, and wild flowers....except for the traffic whizzing by. We took several pictures
There were some really steep grades as we got into McKinney in the residential/commercial areas and one we actually walked while on another one we had a couple of semi trucks backed up creeping up the hill patiently behind us because we had absolutely no shoulder to ride on and we "took the lane."
We called Cindy to let her know we were about a mile away and she was disappointed that she had gone to run errands. But we had thought we'd be getting in later in the afternoon and we were not concerned. Lauren, 11yrs old, was next door at her friend's. She and her friends made up a wonderful welcoming committee. Excited to spend a few days getting rested and refill our love buckets.

I think that you deserve some rest! You have had some long mile days recently.
