April 25 - Fairfield TX to Centerville - 38 BIG Up & Down miles!
Heaven forbid that Texas might run out of hills before we run out of miles! We know you are tired of hearing about hills and headwind and we're tired of riding them! Whine! & Complain! Yes, we're doing this because we want to but we're beginning to wonder about our choice of roads. Georgia asked Rusty if there are more hills because we're riding on Farm to Market roads and state hwys. He explained that less money is used for them and the road is more apt to be laid on the hills instead of being cut through them Rusty hit the wall after 38 miles of some real gems and with 22 more miles to go. (It was his turn) He said "Okay, I'm ready to go home". He also said that he had probably said that the day before and the day before that. He felt he could do another ten but that would put us in "No where's Ville" again and we'd had enough roadside camping adventure for a while. We did laundry in the motel room and gave in to our craving for Texas Bar B Q!! We recommend Country Cousins roadside barbque shack in Huntsville, Texas!
Not sure if we'll learn this lesson for good but it seems that when we have a really great rotten ride and whine and complain about it, the next day we always feel better!

I did not know that there were stake roads. Do they go between Stake Centers? Just kidding.
Thanks, Susie! I'll fix that.
