April 17 - Hico to Granbury - 54miles
This morning Joann came by to say goodbye and give us a weather update. She said she just couldn't have had us camp out the night before with the possibility of a storm and the local motel is so bad she wouldn't have wanted us to stay there. It is rumored that the owner has "peep holes" in some of the rooms. Yikes!
She said the big storm was coming in tonight and she strongly recommended that we stay in a motel.
The ride to Granbury was more "Ups & Downs" and some tailwind. When we arrived we checked in to going to the next town but were told iT was 3o miles and a real uphill climb. We didn't have that kind of energy left. We took Joann's advice and stayed in a motel and watched T.V. while all the local stations interrupted regular programming to cover the tornado warning and hail storm hitting hard in Weatherford which is the town 30 miles up the road we had chosen not to ride to.

So glad to hear you all checked into a motel the night of the big storm in the Weatherford area. My roofing contractors are having a ball with all the work that came from that storm. Least it will be all down hill from McKinney to Houston but the wind might be in your face. Good luck on that.
Love,
Armand & Karen
