We've decided to list the animals we've been seeing along the way...endangered or otherwise. Some we've seen on ranches,some running wild or some have been dinner for the buzzards. It's interesting to see the ones that are in the different areas as we ride long the route.
So far the list includes rabbits, horses, deer (both alive and dead), javalinas, road runners, quail, buzzards (duh), hawks, all types of cattle including longhorn steer (in Texas of course!) llamas, sheep, various breeds of goats, harem of turkeys, donkeys, a lizard, an armadillo, a tortoise crossing the road, and a rooster in our last RV park. We enjoy greeting the animals as we ride along. We must admit we get some pretty strange looks and suppose they are thinking "Those crazy humans!" Well, they're right.
April 20: skunk, possum, raccoon (sorry to say all dead along side the road)
April 28 update: Zebra!!! Bullfrog, big fat dead snakes, egrets hanging out with the cattle, cranes, heron,miniature horses.
May 7: Alligator!!!
