Forgot to "Brush & Floss"

June 10, 2013 Brookings Oregon- Morning of the start the ride.

Saturday we drove down to Brookings Oregon to begin our ride Monday morning.  We stayed in the Blue Coast Inn and went to church in the Brookings Ward Sunday morning.  It turned out to be their stake conference and we enjoyed the "learning curve" involved in the web cam broadcast of the meeting.  But never the less, The Spirit was there and it was a good way to prepare for our new adventure.
Monday morning we loaded up the car and headed out.  I was so excited to have the day finally arrive that I actually forgot to brush & floss....so you know I WAS EXCITED! We arm wrestled for the first turn to ride and Rusty let me win.
Stopped  at the "Welcome to California Signs" & "Come Back Soon" to Oregon signs and got pictures (sent to families via cell phones but  will add to blog later when we have the right equipment).
Rusty & Willie drove to the campground 39 miles away in Klamath, set up the tent and then Rusty rode out the last four miles to meet me. We rode together  to the Trees of Mystery and got our picture taken sitting on Paul Bunyan's boots.  We stayed at the Mystery Trees RV campground.
39 miles was nice mileage for the first day especially with the last 15 miles mostly hill climbing. (As we were soon to find out, riding  the Pacific Coast involves lots of hill climbing!  So I will say now and I am sure I will say many more times I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY "ROCKY MTN GRANNY GEARS"!  I think they were invented for me.
