FOOD IN THE SOUTH
Bobby True, the kind trail angel that took us to Helena MS, asked us what we thought of the food in the South. We have enjoyed it but noticed that either the food is fried or if there are vegetables available they are boiled to death with bacon grease. Not a whole lot of options for steamed broccoli! Bobby said that the south has very high incidence of diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. It's not easy to change tradition and culture when it tastes so good. I found myself eating the food but craving a good tossed green salad with a George Foreman grilled chicken breast.
