PHYSICAL ABUSE

This blog is totally Georgia's doing !
It takes my body a while to get used to the physical abuse of a ride like this. For the first two weeks or so I woke up with swollen eyes, my nose was sun burned and chappy and crusty from dripping and wiping, and in spite of sun block my skin became bubbly and then peely . My tummy rebelled and curdled and "Tums" became a part of my daily diet. Oh, and then there's the "Fanny Factor". After about two weeks my body said "Oh, you're going to keep up this insanity. " and decided to settle down and get to work. This happened six years ago when I did the Southern Tier ride with WT's and it happened again this time.
However, just recently added to the abuse this trip is the bug bites while riding in Louisiana. Of course humidity and bugs go together. Riding captain makes me not only a better target but the first target. Rusty rides a lot with his head down and my face is up looking at the road ahead. Probably have a total of a dozen bites on my neck, ear, upper lip, chin and eye. After a couple of days I decided to use antibiotic ointment and it helped alot. Now I just have scaps to brag about.
So, Rusty has had the opportunity to get to know a new Georgia in several different ways. Sure glad he still loves me!

Some people are true heroes! You guys are mine--congratulations on your great trip. We are cheering you on. I ran into Tanya Cannon at the airport coming back from Women's Conference this last weekend. She was so sorry to miss the get together but had a family emergency. Keep up-- keeping up. We love you both!
