Tempe to Queen Creek a Success!

Monday morning we left Tempe at about 9:00AM to begin the first leg of our bike odyssey. We had several stops along the way including the mailbox to send off birthday cards. The weather was perfect, in fact a bit coolish at 65 degrees for starters. The rain forecast for the night before didn't happen but there were a few clouds in the sky. Perfect weather for a bike ride, especially for two Oregon riders. We took our time all the way along the 28 mile ride getting the feel for pulling the trailer and steering with front panniers. Some head wind for the first 15 or so miles worked us a little harder than we liked for our first day . We stopped frequently to make adjustments, put on sunscreen, visit the facilities and buy chocolate milk, etc. Arrived at 1:00PM in plenty of time to celebrate Christian Henrichsen's fourth birthday!! We ride out and up tomorrow, Wednesday, for Superior .
Twenty-eight miles down........ 2937 to go!

Nice weather is always a help. It's a good thing you didn't start here!!!! Rain, rain, and more rain here.
Love you guys!

Congrats--sometimes the first step is the hardest. Of course, it was a pretty flat ride, wasn't it? The next one or two are going up, right?

Good Luck--we love you!

Chocolate milk. Now that, to me, is an NEED. :) Congratulations on your first day!
