"Red Stick" Louisiana!

April 14 Tuesday
We awakened at the awful early morning hour of 3:00A to catch the shuttle to the airport for our 6:00A flight. Everytime we do this I swear I'll never do it again but early is sometimes cheap. We flew four hours to Houston and then fifty minutes to Baton Rouge, affectionately called "Red Stick" by the locals.
Our bikes had been shipped two weeks earlier to Dave's mobile bike service. He put the pieces back together, litterally, because there had been some damage in the shipping which was the very thing we had tried to avoid by having the bike shop in Newport pack the bikes and then shipping them UPS. Dave did a great job of fixing Rusty's damaged front hub and my cracked fender and replaced my chain. However he couldn't deliver the bikes to us until THursday, which meant a one day delay in starting our ride. Hey, The name of the game is flexible!

POST NOTE: We are in Vicksburg, Mississippi Library right now April 22 catching up our blog.
